Intro
After a very successful go-live, Infor M3 is now operational at Leksands Knäckebröd. The implementation project started in January last year, and now nearly a year later, Elvenite, together with Leksand's team, has carried out a very successful deployment. The initial solution includes Infor M3 13.4, the WMS system Extend, and supplier invoice scanning with Medius Flow. The solution supports all business processes at Leksands, from purchasing, inventory, planning, production to finance and follow-up.
Case
Leksands Knäckebröd previously used an older version of iScala as their business system, which no longer provided effective support for Leksands' business processes. With a new business system, the aim was to achieve better support for Leksands' internal processes and to meet IT requirements from customers and other external stakeholders. The company also wanted to increase operational reliability and have a more flexible business system solution that would not limit future business development and opportunities.
Key criteria for choosing a new business system at Leksands Knäckebröd included that the system solution had good system support for the bakery industry and that it was a future-proof standard system. Additional decisive criteria were that the system should be reliable and able to integrate with the existing WMS solution efficiently. The choice was made to implement Infor M3 together with Elvenite, which had industry experience from F&B in general and also specifically from bakeries, as well as expertise in the WMS system Extend.
We wanted a partner with both expertise in F&B, baking, and at the same time enough breadth to be responsible for all parts of the project. Elvenite's project methodology, with clear responsibilities and control mechanisms throughout the project, minimises the risk of unexpected surprises.
Leksands Knäckebröd has invested heavily in its production facility in recent years and currently operates six parallel production lines in shifts, around the clock, seven days a week. It is very important that production runs smoothly, without disruptions or stoppages. Much time and effort have been dedicated to improving system support for planning and production, as well as enabling effective traceability throughout the chain and achieving better monitoring at all levels. The project to switch business systems has been carried out very successfully in collaboration between Leksands Knäckebröd and Elvenite for almost a year. Key success factors have been the close collaboration within the project team, with high problem-solving ability and decision-making authority. The project spirit has been characterised by the willingness to find good overall solutions within the framework of standards and a solution-oriented approach, which has created efficiency and progress in the project.
Together, Leksands Knäckebröd and Elvenite have carried out the project in a problem- and solution-oriented manner with a structured and controlled approach. Hard work has been combined with a lot of laughter, which is a successful combination for a good project!
With a new business system to support its operations, the expectations are that Leksands Knäckbröd will become less dependent on personnel and consultants, increase the efficiency of its business processes, become less vulnerable to operational disruptions, and be able to meet the expectations and demands of external stakeholders in a better way, as well as being able to rely on its data. Leksands Knäckebröd has significantly raised the level of analysis and follow-up at all levels of the company.
