After 15 months of work, Strand Unikorn AS, Vestfoldmøllene AS, Hundseth Mølle AS and Norgesfôr AS have gone live with a new shared business platform that will strengthen efficiency, collaboration and future competitiveness in Norwegian agriculture.
Strand Unikorn, Vestfoldmøllene, Hundseth Mølle and Norgesfôr have now completed one of the largest digitalization initiatives in Norwegian agriculture and the feed industry in recent years.
Through a 15-month transformation program, the companies have modernized core work processes across purchasing, logistics, production, producer settlement, sales and finance. The goal has been to establish a stronger foundation for continued growth, better collaboration and increased value creation for Norwegian farmers and customers.
– Agriculture is facing major demands for efficiency, sustainability, traceability and profitability. If we are to succeed in developing our businesses further, we must also invest in modern work processes and technology. This initiative gives us an important foundation for the future, says Trude Ulven, CEO of Strand Unikorn.
The project has been carried out in close collaboration between the companies and has involved employees from across the organization.
– This is not primarily about technology. It is about creating better collaboration, sharing knowledge and ensuring that we work more efficiently across our organizations. It is the people who have made this transformation possible, says Martin Dombestein, managing director of Norgesfôr.
The new platform will contribute to faster decision-making processes, better access to data and more standardized ways of working throughout the value chain.
– Norwegian agriculture depends on strong and efficient value chains to meet the demands of the future. This initiative gives us a better starting point for continued development, while strengthening our ability to deliver value to customers and owners, says Rolf-Erik Mikalsen, managing director of Vestfoldmøllene.
The project has been led by Svein-Rune Limbodal on behalf of the companies.
– The most impressive thing has been the ability the organizations have shown to stand together through change. When carrying out a transformation of this size, success is first and foremost about people, leadership and collaboration. We are very proud of that today, says Limbodal.
The implementation has been carried out in collaboration with Elvenite.
– This is a project that shows what is possible when companies have clear goals and the ability to bring the organization together around them. We have had more than 30 ERP specialists involved throughout the project, but it is the customer's own employees who have created the results. We are proud to have been part of the journey, says Tom in't Veen, project manager at Elvenite.
Solution owner at Elvenite, Eirik Lippert, believes the project illustrates how digitalization is becoming increasingly important for the Norwegian food and agriculture industry.
– We see that companies that succeed in combining industry expertise, standardization and modern technology gain an increasingly strong foundation for continued growth. This project is a good example of exactly that, says Lippert.
The implementation of the new ERP solution was carried out over 15 months and involved more than 30 consultants and specialists from Elvenite, as well as resources from Strand Unikorn, Vestfoldmøllene, Hundseth Mølle and Norgesfôr. The solution is based on Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage, an industry solution developed for the food and agriculture industry.
